Community in Bloom Booth | Singapore Garden Festival 2016

On 25th July 2016, in collaboration with the Community in Bloom (CIB) Initiative – a nationwide gardening movement, Siloso Beach Resort participated in the Singapore Garden Festival by opening up a booth from 1 to 4 pm to showcase our sustainability efforts regarding our wormery.

The Singapore Garden Festival is a bi-annual event organised by N-Parks and Gardens by the Bay. Held at Gardens by the Bay from 23-31 July 2016, this Festival promises a magical world with exquisite garden designs and floral masterpieces. Be it professional gardeners and families out for a day of fun, there is definitely something for everyone to do.

Our CSR team went down to set up a booth with our earthworms and hundreds of bottles of earthworm castings! Numerous varieties of plants, ranging from herbs like rosemary and basil to roses and lemongrass, from our resort were displayed and used to decorate our booth to show the different plants that SBR has grown using our own castings!

Complimentary bottles of castings were given out to the public in light of spreading the word of how the wormery is an integral part of our one-of-a-kind waste management system. It plays an important role in a closed loop cycle in our resort and the resort has indeed benefitted greatly from it. The response was great with a never-ending crowd in the span of a mere 3 hours!

SBR is proud to have been a part of the Singapore Garden Festival 2016 and we hope all those who have visited our booth have learnt something new about the wonders of earthworms!
